Inspiration is the spark that takes your breath away

This Saturday, 8/13, my fellow higher education educator, author, and friend Tiffany Reardon and I are hosting a workshop for authors aspiring to write and publish their own book. Tiffany and I have both published a nonfiction book about our own life experiences. We’ve had different publishing experiences, different writing styles, and different writing methods. In this workshop we will share our own writing journeys and offer a summary of the many hours of research we’ve done on different publishing companies. As I’m preparing for this workshop, one of the most important aspects of writing a book we’ll discuss is how to inspire and motivate yourself.

If someone else’s words or actions motivate you, that’s great, but you also need to be able to inspire and motivate YOURSELF! “Inspiration is the spark, motivation is the fire”, a quote I heard from Steph Hammerman, a celebrated adaptive cross-fit coach. I have the pleasure (and pain) of attending her virtual class every Tuesday. I love that quote! Inspiration is the spark, motivation is the fire. You need to find YOUR spark and YOUR fire. If you read my book, When Life Throws You Lemons…Make Cranberry Juice!, you’ll learn exactly what sparks me and fires me up. Inspiration is the spark that takes your breath away. YOUR breath. I put those words over a whale in front of a glacier because that takes MY breath away.

What’s your spark? Come to our workshop on Saturday to discuss this further. Reserve your spot soon. Limited spots are available.
